Cheap Baked Goods at Walmart

I have been watching for the after-holiday sale on baked goods at Walmart.

I knew that once the 4th of July was over, Walmart would eventually mark down all of their patriotic cakes, cookies, and other baked goods with the red, white, and blue theme.

Now, don’t get me wrong. These are not old baked goods from the beginning of July!

Walmart has continued freshly baking 4th of July-themed goodies over the past month.

But, now they are finally on markdown!

My daughter, Jaimie, found the marked-down goodies, and we grabbed a bunch for our families.

I threw a bunch of them into the freezer.  They last quite a while in the freezer. 

Well, until the grands show up!

The grandkids will love coming over to Grandma’s house for snacks.

Watch the Price Tags

Keep an eye on the price tags.

This 12-pack of cookies was marked down to $2.00, while the 21-pack was just $1.75!

The packages of mixed chocolate and vanilla cupcakes were just $1.00 while the all-vanilla ones were $1.25.

More Than Just Cookies

There are more than just cupcakes and cookies.

Watch for anything with the red, white, and blue theme.

I saw some Rice Krispies treats and pretzels. 

Hidden Clearance

Every Walmart marks things down at different times, so if yours isn’t marked yet, keep checking.

I found these a few days ago, so they actually could be a lot cheaper by now!

Don’t assume the marked price is the right price though.

They may be on ‘hidden clearance’.

Use the Walmart app to scan items while in the store.

You could also just find one of the Walmart price scanners and scan your item there.

Plus, you could just go check out with the item and see what price rings up.

Some people think I have the ability to mark things down while I am shopping at Walmart.

The Walmart app price scanner is not a magic wand.

All it does is tell me the accurate price of the item before I go the to register.

I am sure you have been shopping before and found an item that rang up cheaper than you thought it was going to ring up.

Walmart has thousands of items and the workers have to change the price tags.

Sometimes we are able to find items before those tags get changed.

How does this help?

I might not even consider buying baked goods at $5.97 and up per package, but when I find out it is only one dollar or less, I will grab them.

The Walmart app price scanner gives me an accurate price so I can decide whether or not I want to pay the real price or not.
