National Donut Day Friday, June 7th
Every year, we celebrate National Donut Day on the first Friday in the month of June.
The first Donut Day started as a way to cheer up soldiers who were risking their lives during war. Donut Day became a way to raise awareness about the war and to raise funds for Salvation Army’s activities on the battlefield.
The Salvation Army Lassies were the women who served doughnuts to soldiers during the first World War.
There is still a tradition of serving donuts to raise funds for the organization in many parts of the United States.
Dunkin Donuts is offering a FREE classic donut with the purchase of any drink.
Krispy Kreme is giving one FREE donut of any flavor, no purchase necessary.
Don’t forget to check grocery stores, bakeries, and even convenient stores to see if they are celebrating National Donut Day on Friday, June 7, 2024.
