That means this isn’t necessarily an instant treat—but it also isn’t something you have to stand over while it freezes.

One Important Thing to Know About Ingredients

The FreezyFun works differently from simply throwing ice and a drink into a blender.

The balance of ingredients matters, particularly the amount of sugar and, for adult drinks, alcohol. Pampered Chef recommends following tested recipes while you’re learning how to use the machine.

What I Like About the FreezyFun

This is probably the biggest selling point for me.

If this appliance only made one type of slushie, the price would be much harder to justify. But being able to make frozen drinks, coffeehouse-style treats, milkshakes, adult drinks, and soft serve gives it much more versatility.

You Control the Ingredients

Making frozen treats at home lets you decide what goes into them.

You can experiment with different flavors and recipes instead of being limited to whatever is available at a convenience store or restaurant.

I have a big family, so I always look at kitchen products from the perspective of whether people will actually enjoy using them.

That’s a significant investment.

I would not recommend buying it simply because slushies look fun. I would think about how many of its functions your household would realistically use.

If your family would regularly make slushies, frozen lemonades, milkshakes, frappés, soft serve, and entertaining drinks, you’re getting much more use from the appliance than someone who might make one slushie twice a year.

It Needs Counter or Storage Space

Like any specialty small appliance, you have to decide where you’re going to keep it.

And I have learned that an appliance stored somewhere difficult to reach is an appliance that doesn’t get used nearly as often.

You Need to Follow the Recipe Guidelines

The FreezyFun does give you room to experiment, but you can’t assume that every liquid can simply be poured into the machine and turn into a perfect slushie.

Sugar content, alcohol content, ingredient texture, temperature, and other factors can affect the final result. Starting with tested recipes will give you a much better experience.

I think the FreezyFun makes the most sense for:

I wouldn’t tell everyone they need one.
