PT’s Market the New Deli in Dekalb Junction

There’s a new deli in Dekalb Junction, and the community couldn’t be happier!

When Tami and Dave French made their official Facebook announcement that they would be opening a deli in Dekalb Junction, the cheers went up all over the place.

“It’s something that this town has desperately needed for awhile. Not just for food – and the food is good – but also to have a community gathering area. Our downtown is very depleted and a place like this excites people and makes them feel more enthusiastic about what our town could be again.” – Janice

What!

Where?

When?

Yay!

And many Congratulations were being yelled across the world of Facebook.

The community was super excited and more than ready to get out there and support the French family in their new adventure.

100 Pizzas Sold Within 8 Days

The proof is in the pudding, or in this case the pizza.

PT’s Market sold their 100th pizza on their 8th day of business.

Exactly two weeks from the day they opened, they sold their 200th pizza!

“It sure is going to nice to be able to stop for lunch , snacks , etc. on my way home from work without going miles off my route.” – Sherry

The community really showed up to support this new deli.

I would say they are a success!

They have some really affordable sweet snacks too.

My granddaughter, Fern, didn’t have a hard time picking out the snack she wanted!

PT’s has plans of selling wine and beer in the future.

Family Owned and Operated

Dave and Tami are the proud parents of four children – Abigail, Nellie, Paul, and Henry.

They have raised their children with the same work ethics and heart for others that they themselves live out in their community every day.

“Tami is a beautiful young lady, mother, and granddaughter. I am very happy for her. Her kids and husband are great people and very supportive of her. I am sure Tami will do quite well with her new deli just as she has with her hair shop.” – Loretta, Tami’s Gram

Dave and Tami love to see their daughter, Nellie, in the kitchen baking up fresh homemade donuts to offer in the family deli.

Nellie is carrying on the tradition of the original donut maker in the family, who is also her namesake, Nellie’s Great, Great, Great Grandmother Nellie.

Although, Great, Great, Great Grandma Nellie isn’t here to work along side of Nellie in the kitchen, Tami’s grandmother, Gram is always a welcome sight!

*You may recognize Gram from the Silver Leaf Diner. She ran the diner for years and has handed it off to Tami’s sister, Traci. This is a working family who loves to serve their community!

Nellie isn’t the only family cook, though.

Dave and Tami’s daughter, Abigail is pretty well-known for her yummy chocolate chip cookies!

Local, Small Business Supporting Local, Small Businesses

Tami is a big supporter of local, small businesses.

While she was in the midst of the hustle and bustle of trying to open her own new business, she was reaching out to other local businesses giving them the opportunity to sell their goods within her store.

“I believe in supporting local businesses.” – Tami French, owner of PT’s Market

Support Those Who Support You

Tami is always first in line to support her hometown community.

She also owns a hair salon right in Dekalb Junction called, Cut ‘N Edge.

Cut ‘N Edge gives free hair cuts to school aged children during the back-to-school season every year.

She collects school supplies at her salon in order to donate them to those in need.

Tami, Dave, and their children wouldn’t jump up and tell anyone about their contributions to the community, but I will.

“I am very proud of Tami. She is doing an excellent job between this new deli, her salon, and taking care of her family. Her new deli is a family business. My other daughter, Traci, runs the Silver Leaf, which is also a family business. It’s a family thing. That’s just what we do.” – Robin, Tami’s mother

I am proud to have businesses, neighbors, and friends who are willing to look out for others within their communities.

Tami and Dave have raised their children in this same manner.

For the past eight years, the French family has held an Easter  egg hunt right in town.

They have also raised money for the flags to be put up around town.

It is obvious that community is very important to them.

“We come from a long line of hard working people who are still working today. Family time is important for Tami so having something her kids can be involved with is a blessing I’m sure. Tami is a committed supporter of community growth and bringing the community together in more ways than one.” – Traci, Tami’s sister

Their kids pulled together a Halloween parade during Covid.

They handed out 75 bags of candy to the kids in town during the pandemic.

They aren’t ones for attention, but I say let’s support those who support us!

*Thank you Dave, Tami, and the entire French family for your continued service to the community!
