I was literally just thinking the other day that parents don’t seem to take into consideration the meaning of the names they are bestowing on their children today.

I watched a little video about absurd names that children were being given today. They were so out there that I couldn’t decide if the video was true, or just making the point that some parents give crazy names! (Hard to tell today!)

Names have meanings. I was super excited to hear about the Dehnart family. They are a simple homeschooling family that lives in a country farmhouse. They decided to use their talents to create fun videos that feature your child’s name, the meaning of that name, and just to add more fun, they include an original piece of your child’s artwork!

The video consists of the cutest cartoon characters that include talking stars, a wise old owl, sheep, and a talking pencil named Ben.

Our personalized video began with Ben taking Sarah’s artwork along an adventure to the moon and back. We got to meet and hear Mr. Owl talk about his own family tree. We laughed over and over again as Mr. Owl told one pun after another. Sarah loved his references to Owliver Twist, Owlbert Einsten, and Jack-of-Owltrades.

There was a discussion about the meaning of Sarah’s name, the origin of the name, and the original language from which it was derived.

There is a big focus on the Biblical perspective of the name, and how much your child means to God.

Sarah loved that her name was mentioned over and over again throughout the video.

A ten-page .pdf file was included with our video. It was filled with fun activities for Sarah to complete. Each page focused completely on her name. She completed activities, like word finds, cursive, coloring, plus more.

I specified the exact name of the child I wanted to be featured in the video, plus I uploaded my personal choice of Sarah’s original artwork.

I, actually, didn’t tell Sarah about the video since I wanted it to be a surprise. Otherwise, I would have let her choose her own artwork.

I wrote a personal letter to Sarah, which was shared towards the end of the video. It was shown on parchment, and read aloud.

Sarah was shocked and visibly touched while the letter was being read.

I sent in an original piece of artwork, which was shown throughout the entire video. Sarah’s picture of a mock stained glass window that she painted recently worked perfectly.

A recent picture of Sarah was shared at the end of the video. Sarah was super excited to see Ben, the pencil in the picture with her!

Sarah’s Reaction

The video came in at the perfect time. It arrived the week of Sarah’s 12th birthday! This made an amazing birthday gift!

Sarah was shocked when I told her I wanted her to watch something. She had no idea that she was about to watch the story of SARAH!

Sarah was excited to find out that her name originated from the Hebrew language. The name Sarah actually means BELOVED PRINCESS!

Sarah said, “This video was so funny and special! Can I show it to everyone?!?”

My Thoughts

I was not expecting such an amazing video. The quality was extremely high. The story line was fun to follow. I was really surprised that the video lasted just over 28 minutes! My entire family thoroughly enjoyed watching it. We had to watch it a few times because we were laughing so hard during certain parts that we missed a lot!

I was so thrilled to watch Sarah’s reactions to the video. It really touched her!
