Family-Focused Business

Cindy started out in the bakery at the old Jubilee Market in Canton, New York. When they closed down, she ventured out and opened her own little shop on Miner Street.

Eventually, Cindy moved her shop out onto a lot on State Highway 68.

Cindy has been operating her cake shop since 1998.

Cindy’s Cake Shop has always been a family-focused business. You can always find family jumping in to help get done whatever needs to be done.

Her sisters, Bonnie and Jill, are familiar faces at the Cake Shop.

Cindy’s husband, Reggie, has become known as the Cookie Man in the area. He makes the cookie deliveries to all of the merchants around the North Country.

And, of course, her children and grandbabies are always willing to jump into both help and eat up the yumminess that’s always available!

It is not just about business with Cindy either. She is always one of the first people to jump in and donate to community events. It doesn’t matter if it is a public event or a personal event either.

Cindy is always willing to donate.

She has donated to all sorts of functions, like auctions, raffles, benefit dinners, kickball tournaments, and the Edward I Moses Walk/Run. As long as it’s for some sort of fundraiser or benefit, Cindy has been more than willing to donate.

I have personally never seen her pass up donating to a jamboree.

TEAM ERIC

Her annual TEAM ERIC event has raised thousands of dollars for cancer patients!

Team Eric was formed in April of 2009 after Cindy’s son, Eric had died of cancer in October of 2008. The team has done raffles and cookie sales to raise money. All of the money raised goes directly to the Edwards I Moses Walk/Run for Life, which helps people in St. Lawrence County that are impacted by cancer. I don’t know the exact amount that has been raised, but since it was formed in 2009 Team Eric has raised over $100,000.

Pandemic? No Problem!

A worldwide pandemic hasn’t scared her off either.

Candy had been a good shopper for years. With 12 children, it didn’t take her long to realize that if she wasn’t a smart shopper, she wouldn’t make it very far! She wanted to continue to be a stay-at-home mother, but she wondered if this was going to be possible. Then, she found out about coupons. Coupons have literally changed her life!
