For those of you who don’t know me, here’s a little about Candy Foote. My name is Candy Foote. Yes, that’s really my name.

About Candy Foote

I always like to start out by answering the most popular questions I get:

• Yes, I really have 12 children
• 6 girls and 6 boys
• My youngest just turned 12, and my oldest will be 35 in January
• Yes, you’re right. I am too young to have a child that old!
• No, I’m not Catholic.
• No, I’m not Amish.
• No, I don’t have any twins
• And, finally, yes, I really do know where they come from. Actually, I tend to think that people who only have one or two children never did figure it out! I obviously did.

Another question I get is how did I become so thrifty. Well, I already answered that question – 12 children.

This website is written and edited by me personally. I enjoy living the frugal, simple lifestyle and sharing my knowledge on this blog.

One of my joys is teaching others that life can be fully enjoyed while living a simple lifestyle, using a budget, and having a thrifty mindset.

I am convinced that the number one way to save money is to learn to be content with what you have now. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t have goals to improve life, but enjoy what you have while reaching for what you want or need in the future.

As far as your budget is concerned, I fully believe that we focus too much on our income and not enough on how much is going out. It is not about how much is coming in. It is about how much is going out.
