Aldi – Flour Recall and This Week’s Deals
Aldi has some of the BEST prices on produce. I can’t wait to tell you about all that yummy goodness marked down at unbelievable prices!
But, first I must tell you about the Aldi recall on flour.
Flour Recall
Have you tried to purchase a bag of flour at ALDI this week? If yes, then you probably weren’t too happy to find the flour spot totally empty. ALDI isn’t selling flour across eleven different states due to a recall.
This was really bad news for the Foote household. We use a lot of flour!
I wasn’t overly concerned when I read that there was a recall on ALDI flour. After all, I thought, I bought this flour months ago.
Just to be safe, though, I checked the bar codes, and sure enough, ours matched the recall.
I contacted my daughter, Jaimie, and told her to check her pantry, and hers matched up too.
Instead of throwing it out, we decided to test the ALDI TWICE AS NICE GUARANTEE.
The store workers didn’t seem surprised at all when we wheeled in our cart of flour. They were more than happy to accommodate us. They quickly told us that they would be happy to refund our money for the bags we brought in.
I asked them if the TWICE AS NICE GUARANTEE applied to recalls. They told us that they couldn’t give us free bags of flour since the recall made it unable for them to sell flour at all right now.
The clerk disappeared to speak to the manager, then quickly came back and said they would gladly give us FREE bags of sugar to replace each bag of flour!
SCORE!
This ended up being an even better deal than I anticipated. Five pound bags of flour sell for $1.15 at ALDI right now. Their bags of sugar sell for $1.89!
I ended up getting my $1.15 per bag back in cash, plus FREE sugar!

Connecticut, Delaware, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont and West Virginia.
The recall is on the ALDI five pound bags with this UPC code:
041498130404
But, for safety’s sake, ALDI is recalling ALL OF THEIR FLOUR.

This Week’s Deals
Of course, we couldn’t go into ALDI without picking up some of their amazing deals! We found some great prices on produce this week. Do you buy your produce at ALDI?
Strawberries – $1.29
Oh, my goodness! These strawberries were so delicious! I picked up a couple of packages of these, plus some blueberries in hopes of making a cake, but they didn’t last that long!
Blueberries – $1.49
I did manage to grab a few strawberries and blueberries before the kids devoured them all. They were perfect in a bowl with whipped cream!
Blackberries – $1.79
I didn’t get any that day, but this is an amazing price for blackberries!
