Extra Money for Christmas and Black Friday
What could be worse for a Strategic Shopper than to have all kinds of amazing Christmas and Black Friday deals floating around without any money to spend!
I know how the conversation in your head goes: Next year, I am going to be ready for these deals and have extra money for Christmas.
Yet, next year always seems to be just out of reach.
I have a great idea. Instead of waiting for next year, let’s prepare now for this year!
There are too many quick and easy ways to make a little extra cash in today’s world, so let’s take advantage of them!
Walgreen’s Register Rewards and Bonus Rewards
Are you a Walgreens shopper? I love Walgreens! I built up my Bonus Rewards this summer, then used them at the end of the season to purchase all kinds of great items during their 90% off sale.
My favorite buy was a shopping cart full of backpacks and school supplies marked down to ridiculously low prices. The backpacks were only 49 cents, but I paid closer to 10 cents each after my rewards were calculated into the equation.
I did deplete my rewards, but it is super easy to build them back up. And, that is exactly my plan.
I will be shopping the deals at Walgreens each week, and taking advantage of all of their rewards.
Walgreens usually offers amazing Christmas deals, including toys priced at buy one get two free! Many times the one toy you actually need to pay for is only $6.99. I plan on saving up my rewards and getting super cheap toys for my gift closet.
Last year, I bought a toy for each one of my grandchildren’s birthdays for the following year during this amazing sale.
Hurry into Walgreens this week and get started with the Irish Spring deal.
Buy two Irish Spring body wash at $3.99 each
Use one printable coupon from OVER HERE to get 75 cents off, plus a Walgreens digital coupon for $1.00 off one.
Pay $6.23, plus tax, and get $5.00 back in rewards.
You can actually pay this down some with points, if you have any, and you will still earn back the $5.00 reward.
(There is a little trick to this, but it is pretty simple to learn. If the deals says you will earn Balance Rewards back when you BUY something, such as BUY two, then you can use Balance Rewards to help pay for your transaction, and you will still earn points back. BUT, if it says you will earn Balance Rewards when you SPEND a certain amount, then you will not earn rewards back if you pay with rewards.)
Either way, give it a try and start building up your Balance Rewards in order to be prepared for Christmas shopping.
(Also keep in mind that Walgreens’ has two separate rewards programs – Balance Rewards and Register Rewards. Don’t try and save up your paper Register Rewards because they expire quickly.)
SWAGBUCKS
I have literally earned hundreds of dollars worth of gift cards through Swagbucks over the years.
Swagbucks has a variety of ways to earn points. The points can be used to purchase gift cards, or even cash through Paypal and Visa Rewards cards. The stores to choose from are really too many to list, but include the normal choices like Amazon, Dunkin Donuts, Walmart, and Target, but also include rare rewards, like Cabela’s, Southwest Airlines, and eBay.
I have earned over $500.00 in Amazon cards since I signed up for my Swagbucks account!
Start earning today by doing your normal everyday activities, like shopping online, watching entertaining videos, searching the web via Swagbucks instead of Yahoo or other search engines, answering surveys, and buying things you already plan on buying through your Swagbucks link. Of course, one of my favorite ways to earn points is by printing my coupons right from coupons .com. The trick is to just go to their website through my Swagbucks account.
Digital Rebate Apps
There are literally too many digital rebate apps to mention. The digital world has made getting rebates extremely simple.
I don’t try and use every single rebate app available. I just chose a few good ones, and stick with them. More than that just becomes overwhelming to me.
