If you’re looking for another way to stretch your grocery budget, the Food Sense September 2026 package is now available! This month’s standard package is just $20.50 and includes a variety of meats, pantry staples, frozen vegetables, canned fruit, and fresh produce. Food Sense also has several optional September specials that can help you stock your freezer for less.
What’s Included in the September 2026 Food Sense Package?
For $20.50, the September Food Sense package includes:
- 1 lb. frozen meatballs
- 1.5 lbs. frozen chicken breast
- 1 lb. frozen fish sticks
- 1 lb. frozen Italian sausage
- 24 oz. jar of pasta sauce
- 1 lb. frozen Italian vegetable blend
- 1 lb. frozen green beans
- 1 lb. box of spaghetti
- 11 oz. can of mandarin oranges
- 15 oz. can of pears
- Fresh produce item #1 — to be announced
- Fresh produce item #2 — to be announced
September 2026 Food Sense Specials
In addition to the standard $20.50 package, you can add any of these September specials to your order:
- Pork Tenderloin — about 1.87 lbs. for $5.50
- Smash Burger Patties — 2 lbs. for $12.50
- Waffle-Cut French Fries — 4 lbs. for $5.00
- Chicken Wings — 5 lbs. for $9.50
- American Cheese — 5 lbs. for $12.50
- Breaded Shrimp — 3 lbs. for $14.00
The chicken wings can be prepared in the air fryer or oven, and the sliced American cheese is not individually wrapped.
What Is Food Sense?
Food Sense is a monthly food co-op offered through the Food Bank of Central New York to help families stretch their grocery dollars. There are no income requirements, qualifications, or subscriptions to participate.
Each month features a new package of grocery staples, plus optional specials that can be added to your order. You simply choose a participating pickup location, place your order by the monthly deadline, and pick up your food on the scheduled distribution date.
How to Order Food Sense
Ordering is simple:
- Visit the Food Sense online ordering website.
- Select your preferred pickup location.
- Add the September package and any optional specials you would like.
- Pay online with a credit card or EBT (SNAP).
If you prefer to pay by cash or check, contact the coordinator at your preferred pickup location to place your order.
Food Sense currently has 55 pickup locations throughout its 11-county Central New York service area.
September Ordering Deadline
Online orders for the September 2026 Food Sense package are due by Monday, September 14, 2026.
In-person ordering deadlines and pickup dates vary by location, so be sure to check the details for your selected pickup site when placing your order.
