The End A Bible Prophecy Study for Teens

The End a Bible Prophecy Study for Teens

Thank you, Cheri Fields, for the opportunity to review your book, The End: A Bible Prophecy Study for Teens.

Eschatology. The very word can send shivers down the best of Christians.

Eschatology – any system of doctrines concerning last, or final matters, as death, the Judgment, the afterlife, etc.

As my 14-year-old daughter, Sarah, put it, End times prophecy can be interesting, but it can also be confusing and scary.

"End times prophecy can be intersting, but it can also be confusing and scary."
- Sarah

Cheri Fields helps to clear up some of that confusion in her book, The End A Bible Prophecy Study for Teens.

Putting All of the Pieces of Prophecy Together

I like how Cheri compared prophecy in the Bible to a jigsaw puzzle, a detective trying to solve a case, and DNA.

It’s like a jigsaw puzzle because we need to fit all the pieces together. The pieces are found within the Bible.

It’s like a detective trying to sell the case because you actually need to read the Word, find the clues, and fit together the evidence.

She compares prophecy with DNA and palindromes because both can be read forwards and backward to say the same thing.

The End A Bible Prophecy Study for Teens helps us to put all of these pieces together.

“This image's head was of fine gold, his breast and his arms of silver, his belly and his thighs of brass . . ."
Daniel 2:32 KJV

The Dainel Prophecies

It would be almost impossible to have a complete Bible study of end times without mentioning Daniel and the 70th week.

Cheri spends quite a bit of time thoroughly covering the Daniel prophecies.

"For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places."
Matthew 24:7 KJV

Jesus' Prophecies

I was happy to see that the author included the prophecies that came directly from Jesus.

It is shocking how many “Bible” studies forget to include the Savior!

End Times Prophecy Review

"For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first."
1 Thessaloinians 4:16 KJV

1 Thessalonians

1 Thessalonians definitely can be controversial when it comes to interpreting the Bible meaning, but it is still a necessary Scripture when studying eschatology.

This book covers 1 Thessalonians through the eyes of someone who believes in pre-tribulation rapture.

"Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand." Revelation 1:3 KJV

Revelation

The author does spend most of her time in the book of Revelation, which should be of no surprise when studying end times.

She actually covers twenty-one out of the twenty-two chapters in Revelation.

The only chapter left out is the final chapter, chapter twenty-two.

"These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the Scriptures daily, whether those things were so."
Acts 17:11

False Prophecy

This book touches on false prophecy and a wrong view of prophecy too.

Knowing the Word for yourself will help keep you from falling into those traps.

It's Not a Novel - It's a Bible Study

Although The End A Bible Prophecy Study for Teens is an excellent book for studying end-times, you will also need a Bible while reading this book.

Cheri Fields uses a lot of Bible references in her book, but she expects you to look up these references up yourself.

End Times Bible Study

My Opinion

Whether you are a teenager or not, this is an excellent resource for studying prophecy and end-times.

I highly recommend The End A Bible Prophecy Study for Teens for people of all ages who are interested in eschatology.

I would like to add that the author believes in a pre-tribulation rapture. Although I do not have the same mindset as she does, I still believe this book is a great Bible study resource.

I thought this would just be a book that I could read through quickly, then write a review.

Not hardly!

This book pulls you in and has you looking up Scripture for yourself and doing a full-course study on eschatology.

It’s a great Bible study!

Candy had been a good shopper for years. With 12 children, it didn’t take her long to realize that if she wasn’t a smart shopper, she wouldn’t make it very far! She wanted to continue to be a stay-at-home mother, but she wondered if this was going to be possible. Then, she found out about coupons. Coupons have literally changed her life!

Thanks so much for your thoughtful review, Candy, and I’m glad to hear it pulled you in.
While I am a futurist who believes the Rapture means living Christians are caught up into the heavens to be with Jesus, pretribulationists would be terribly disappointed if they ever read my book and assume I agree with them. I believe there are lots of precursors and suffering before Jesus comes to rescue his people (Matt 24:29-31), which they do not. But, if someone doesn’t believe in a “Rapture” at all, I can see how they would put my explanation in the same boat.
Tell Sarah hi for me. I wrote the book exactly for someone like her–like I was decades ago. 🙂
