A Few Things I Love About Easy Grammar Systems
To say that English grammar can be a little daunting is a definite overstatement. Easy Grammar Systems takes an overwhelming subject and literally makes it easy.
We have tried more grammar books than I care to mention over the past 26 years! Grammar books tend to be difficult to understand, and typically not cheap!
Easy Grammar Ultimate Series: Grade 9 is both affordable and easy to understand, hence its name, Easy Grammar Systems.
There are exactly 180 lessons. That equals out to one page per school day since we are required to be in school for 180 days. (Although, our homeschool tends to put in a lot more than 180 days per year!)
Each lesson takes up one page in the workbook. Lesson lengths can vary, but most are expected to take no more than ten minutes to complete.
I am a firm believer in the “a little dab will do ya” concept. Easy Grammar Ultimate Series: Grade 9 will make a believer out of you too!
How did my family use this program?
I started out by sitting down with my student and going over the first few lessons with her. I wanted to make sure that she wasn’t overwhelmed, and understood exactly what was expected of her.
We have experienced way too many tears thanks to grammar over the years!
The lessons were quick and easy. They gave my daughter the confidence to be able to complete the work on her own each day.
Format
There are exactly 180 lessons. Each lesson is only one page. There are only five questions per page.
Question #1 is always about using proper capitalization.
Question #2 is always about punctuation.
Question #3 and Question #4 are focused more on concepts, which are taught in sequential order.
Question #5 focuses on sentence structure.
Teacher’s Guide
When I started homeschooling back in 1993, textbooks were super expensive! There was no internet for online classes. There was no Amazon to find deals on.
Student books were a lot of money, but the teacher’s guides were extremely expensive. That is when you could purchase them. Many places refused to sell “regular” people teacher’s guides!
