What are the Best Things to Buy in the Month of March 2023
March is my favorite month to shop the clearance racks in order to fill up my gift closet.
It seems like practically everything in the store is being marked down this time of year.
Since I live in the Northern hemisphere, everything winter is being marked down.
Calendar spring is on its way!
Calendar spring is definitely not the same as real spring. That won’t show up for a couple of months!
So, what are the best things to buy in the month of March?
All Things Winter
I love to fill up my Christmas closet this time of year.
The exact type of stuff that the clearance racks are filled up with are the exact things I will be looking to buy next winter as Christmas gifts.

Valentine's Day Clearance
While most kids count down to Valentine’s Day? My kids always count down until February 15th!
They love cheap candy! Valentine’s Day is at 90% off in most stores now. Hurry before it is all gone!
A lot of this clearanced Valentine’s Day candy doesn’t expire for a couple of years.
Put some away for Christmas.
St. Patrick's Day
Corned beef, carrots, potatoes, and cabbage will be on sale this month.
Stock up while the prices are low.
St. Patrick’s Day falls on March 17th.
That means, March 18th everything associated with St. Patrick’s Day will be put on clearance.
National This and That Month
It is always National Something Month! Take advantage of these months to stockpile the deals.
March is National:
Tax Software
April 15th is the dreaded deadline for income tax season.
Have you filed your taxes yet this year? Make sure you file your taxes in time!
It is not too late to get a deal.
This is the month we will be seeing deals on tax software, like Turbo Tax H&R Block software, and Quickbooks.
Spring Cleaning Supplies
March 20th is the first day of spring! Yay!
Well, it is the first day of calendar spring.
Real spring is still a few months off for those of us in the North Country!
Calendar spring still counts as spring in the stores.
We will start to see sales on all of our spring cleaning needs.
Watch for cleaning supplies and vacuum cleaner deals starting in March.
Stock up on cleaning supplies for the year while they are at these rock-bottom prices.
Make sure and to use the coupons and digital rebates being offered around these sales.
Think outside of the box. Cleaning supplies would make great gift baskets to give at bridal showers and wedding receptions.
Gardening
Are you a gardener?
I love my garden.
My goal is to turn my entire yard into a food forest.
My motto is grow food; not lawns!
March is the perfect time to stock up on all of your gardening needs.
Almost every store will have their new garden seeds on display.
There will be deals on potting soil, mulch, containers, tools, seeds, and more.
Don’t forget to check the online gardening sites too.
Many online seed companies offer coupon discounts in the month of March.
