How to Build a Useful Stockpile Part 5

You can really build up your pantry when you start to think outside of your regular grocery store.

I buy quite a few of my groceries outside of my local grocery stores.

Drug Stores

Have you ever thought about buying groceries at your local drug store?

I buy groceries from Walgreens every month.

If you have ever seen the regular prices of groceries at the drug store, then you are probably thinking this is far from a frugal idea.

The key, of course, is waiting for the deals to roll around.

Walgreens regularly marks down things like cereal, coffee, candy, and more.

It is common to see Walgreens mark cereal down to $1.99 per box.

They usually offer a digital coupon to go along with the deal.

The coupon brings the cereal down to $1.49 per box.

I can pay that in cash or use Register Rewards and WalgreensCash to help pay the balance.

I also love to shop the grocery clearance deals at Walgreens.

I have been able to find some ice cream, herbs & spices, candy, soup, and more marked at pocket change prices.

Don’t forget to check your local drug stores for deals on groceries each month.

Dollar Stores

I pick groceries at dollar stores too.

I like to buy my shelf-stable milk at the Dollar Tree.

I am always watching for them to offer other deals on food too.

It is common for me to find deals on bread, tortilla shells, cookies, and more at the Dollar Tree.

Make sure you check out their clearance racks.

Both Dollar General and Family Dollar can be great places to pick up a few groceries.

I don’t recommend paying their regular prices, but you can really score some deals when you match up their sales and coupons.

Make sure you use their $5.00 off $25.00 coupons every Saturday to make the deals even sweeter.

Shop at Big Lots

If you know me at all, then you know I love to shop for marked down groceries at Big Lots.

I find great deals on their clearance shelves every month.

I buy the majority of my herbs and spices at Big Lots.

Their coconut oil is sold at a great price too.

Make sure you sign up for the Big Lots Big Rewards program to earn coupons so you can save even more.

Candy had been a good shopper for years. With 12 children, it didn’t take her long to realize that if she wasn’t a smart shopper, she wouldn’t make it very far! She wanted to continue to be a stay-at-home mother, but she wondered if this was going to be possible. Then, she found out about coupons. Coupons have literally changed her life!
